Prafull Rai Nagar the 72-year-old son of renowned educationist Pt Janardan Rai Nagar the founder of Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University has laid serious charges of fraud against the university authorities.
Bhanwar Lal Gurgar the Kul Pramukh, secretary Bheru Lal Lohar and VC Dr. S.S. Sarangdevot have been booked for forging election documents and replacing the original ones with fake papers which the complainant claims been presented before the office of Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies. This is perhaps the first case of a vice chancellor of any university facing forgery charges.
The petitioner came to know of the forgery through an RTI response from the Deputy Registrar’s office. “They have forged documents related to the management committee of Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth Kul in their favor. They presented three lists of the members in an election they claimed to have been held in December 2012 where manipulations are evident on the sheets” the complainant said.
Citing another instance of blunder, Nagar claimed in the petition that a meeting of the Management Committee was said to have been held in August 2014 which was chaired by Bhanwar Lal Gurjar. In the meeting a draft committee for amendment in the constitution of the institution led by vice chancellor Dr. S.S. Sarangdevot was formulated which was also approved in the said meeting.
However, the complainant claimed that two sheets of paper were pasted and thus a forged document reporting the minutes of the said meeting was submitted to the government office. The petitioner claimed that no such meeting was held and thus all the papers were forged.
“The FIR has been registered and the investigation is on. It would be too early to comment at this stage. We will seek the original documents to confirm the allegations” Jitendra Aanchaliya, the circle inspector of Surjapole police station said.
