Beware of fake company offers
Recently, there have been more and more scams in the form of fake calls and emails where fraudsters promise policyholders fake incentives and perks only to defraud them later. This article will focus on Fraud through Fake Account Number.
How does this fraud happen?
The fraudster will pose as the identity of an official representative from a well-known, reputable insurance firm and make exaggerated claims about policy advantages, such as unacknowledged bonuses, unpaid commissions or a return of investment money.
The fraudster will provide you with false offers with the name of a respectable company. They will always provide you with their account number in the name of the company. To validate your offer, they will ask you to pay the requested sum.
Avoid this Scam
- Cross- Check an organization’s credentials to see if they are genuine.
- To obtain products, always go to the offices.
- Funds are transferred solely based on account number.
- Fraudsters will give genuine offers in the name of a company.
- Fraudsters will give you their account number in the name of the company.
- Do not pay anybody without verifying the authenticity of the company.
- Don’t trust a stranger offering you huge offers.
- Report the occurrence to the local cybercrime police station and the National Cybercrime Reporting http://cybercrime.gov.in/
