Registration Revoked - Sharma Multispecialty Hospital, Udaipur cannot provide healthcare services from today

District Administration and Health Department of Udaipur have revoked the registration of Sharma Multispecialty Hospital, Udaipur. The massive, over 100 bed hospital, which was established in 2010 and is located at Bhuwana near Sukher, had its registration revoked in an administrative order under the Clinical Establishment Act today, due to irregularities.

This is the first such case in Udaipur when the registration of such a massive hospital has been revoked by the administration on grounds of irregularities and misrepresentation. Sharma Multispecialty Hospital is run by Jinendra Home Health Care, Udaipur.

Subsequent to the registration of the hospital being revoked, Sharma Multispecialty Hospital will not be permitted to provide health care services to the public.

As per CMHO, Dr. Dinesh Kharadi, the inspection was carried out as per provisions under the Clinical Establishment Act. Following complains of irregularities and misrepresentation of information, a team was setup to probe and investigate the hospitals claims on number of beds, availability of specialists, and other criteria.

The probe team submitted its inspection report, as per which the hospital was found to be flouting the minimum standards pertaining to attendance of specialists, provisions and regulations. Pursuant to this inspection report, the District Administration went ahead with registration revocation proceedings against Sharma Multispecialty Hospital, as per the provisions of Clinical Establishment Act.

The hospital and information is also marketed on various renowned digital platforms such as Just Dial, India Mart, Practo, Sehat, etc, which puts the credibility of such global platforms in bad light. Teams from the health department, Udaipur Police and district administration have sealed the hospital from today and a notice of cancellation of registration and license revocation has been put up at the main entrance of the hospital. The said premises cannot provide healthcare services to the public from today.

Further, an FIR has been filed against the hospital, which alleges inspected irregularities, inability to provide the adequate medical facilities to admitted patients, putting the lives of patients in danger and negligence during treatment.

CMHO Dr. Dinesh Kharadi also informed that an official correspondence has been sent to the state government to revoke the hospital’s empanelment in the Aayushmaan Bharat Mahatama Gandhi Rajasthan Health Insurance Scheme and Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme.

The Sonography Machine provided to the hospital by the Joint Director Udaipur Health Department under the PCPNDT Act has also been seized.
