A 17 year old girl hailing from Bhichiwara area of Dungarpur has been raped by her own father at an isolated area of the village, police said.

The alleged incident occured on 29 May while the victim girl was returning back to her house along with his father from a relative's house after attending a wedding ceremony.

In the report to the police the mother of the victim informed the police that her husband works as a labour at Gujarat, there she stays along with another woman and she lives alone here at Bhichiwara with her 27 year old daughter.On 29 May he came to the village to attain a wedding ceremony,he left the house along with his daughter and after returning back he allegedly raped her at an isolated area on the mid way and fled away leaving her alone on the spot, police said.

She somehow managed to reach home and narrated her ordeal with her mother. But they didnot shared it first with anyone with fear of getting defamed in the society. But later she decided to get justice for her minor daughter and lodged a complaint at Bhichiwara police.

Madan Kumar Station House Officer of Bichiwara police station said that a of rape has been registered under section 376 of Indian Penal Code and the sections of Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) will be soon added in the case after getting the age of the victim girl confirmed.

Apart from that a hunt for the accused has been launched for the accused and the investigation is underway,SHO added
