Bhim Police of Rajasmand District apprehend the accused within 12 hours of a kidnapping
A 5 year old girl hailing from Rajsamand district was rescued within 12 hours of her kidnapping. She was rescued by a team from the Bhim Police Station and reunited with her parents on Monday, 20 February. Police also arrested the accused kidnapper, who hails from a nearby village, Khudmal, which falls in the Ajmer district.
According to Superintendent of Police Rajsamand Sudhir Joshi, the victim, a resident of Bheem village of Rajsamand was rescued by the police from under a bridge located on National Highway 8. SP Joshi said that as soon as the police got the information of the kidnapping, a comprehensive search operation was launched by him. He constituted various teams including more than 100 police men and the teams started scanning the footage of the CCTVcameras installed on the toll booths and other buildings and hotels. The team also questioned many suspects in relation to the incident and finally were able to apprehend the accused and rescue the victim within 12 hours of the kidnapping.
As per the SP, in the preliminarily interrogation it was found that the accused Himmat Singh (35) is allegedly having illicit relations with one of the aunts of the victim and he was creating pressure on her to stay with him. However, on her denial he hatched a plan to abduct the victim and took her away on Sunday, 19 February, while she was playing alone outside her house.
The interrogations are still on to further uncover facts related to the kidnapping. The accused Himmat Singh Rawat hails from Khudmal village of Ajmer district and works as a truck driver.
