Timely Police Action prevents Child Trafficking

Six children in the age group of 10-17 years were rescued from being subjected to the life of child labor, thanks to the quick action of Surajpol Police.
The incident, which occurred at Udiapol Bus Stand yesterday, was the result of information provided to the police, where they were told that a man was taking a few children with him to Gujarat, with the intention of delivering them as labor. Members of the Surajpol Police rushed to the Bus Stand and apprehended the ‘Mate’ (agent who delivers children to work as labor) while the children were with him. The man and the children were taken to the Police station, where the man confessed that he was taking them to Gujarat to work as labor in beat cotton farms. The children were from various villages around Udaipur, viz. Gogunda, Sayra, Chela Ka Kheda, Badavali, Tekda, etc. as per police. The Mate was booked under Human Trafficking and is bein interrogated, while the children were sent to Child Shelter homes after initial medical tests.
