Saran was on the run since he was named in the Paper Leak Case of Udaipur and the police teams were on the lookout for him. The other key accused Suresh Bishnoi was already arrested earlier by the police was sent to Judicial Custody along with other accused arrested by Udaipur police from a bus while they were busy writing the answers hours before the General Knowledge paper of the teacher recruitment examination.
How the Arrest of Saran took place
Police have also arrested Saran’s wife and Girl Friend from their residences at Jaipur and had also seized fake degrees and mark sheets of various Colleges and Universities across India. Superintendent of Police Udaipur Vikas Sharma said that the police got a tip off that Saran is hiding somewhere in Bengaluru. He was out of town from the last few days and was having a flight for Bengaluru on Thursday. Upon getting the information the teams from ATS and SOG along with the Udaipur Polcie team which were camping at Bengaluru over the last one week, reached the Kempegowda International Airport at Bengaluru.
"As soon as Saran came out of the airport he was arrested and police team rushed him to Udaipur for interrogation", the SP said. He added that Saran has been remanded to Police Custody by the court for further questioning. As he is a notorious person and professional criminal it takes time to collect information, the SP said. However during the initial interrogation he has revealed names of few people involved in the racket and also claiming that they were getting the papers arranged for him. Nothing can be said without proper verification of the names shared by him. Sharma said that as he was brought to Udaipur on Friday morning a detailed interrogation could not be done, but now that he has been remanded to Police Custody till 27 February, the Police will have more time to conduct a thorough interrogation on the paper leak racket.
Why the Court revoked the Bail of the paper leak accused
Saran was wanted from last two months in the Paper Leak case of the Second Grade Teacher Recruitment examination after the question paper of General Knowledge was leaked in December 2022. The Government in a major move also demolished the coaching center run by the accused Bhupendra and the other mastermind of the racket Suresh Dhaka at Jaipur. The court had earlir granted bail to som of the accused (more than 50 in number), but later the court revokd their bail. In its decision the court said the future of any country depends upon the education system; any country can flourish only on the basis of education. But it is really unfortunate that there exists no solution to many problems in this field, especially in matter of leaking of question papers. In modern times the youth of India wants to achieve their goals and for that they do lot of hard work and also battle with various adverse conditions to prepare themselves for the competitive examinations. Whenever a paper of any competitive examination gets leaked, it not only hurts the candidates but their families as well. Not only does it hurt those who prepare well for the examination, but also inculcates a feeling of insecurity, despair and volatility among the candidates.
The Incident
In the month of December 2022 Udaipur police arrested 44 people including one of the masterminds Suresh Vishnoi from a bus near Bekriya police station circle while they were solving the question paper of General Knowledge hours before the examination, while the bus was moving. Ten more people were later arrested by the police in connection with the matter, from a hotel located at Sukher in Udaipur. All the arrested accused including candidates, mastermind and few girls were than produced in front of the Court and were remanded under Judicial Custody. Investigations on one of the biggest paper leak case of Rajasthan continued and soon SOG also joined the investigation. The police later arrested relatives of the accused candidates for dealing with the masterminds for the answer sheets. The police was on the lookout of both the masterminds, Bhupendra Saran and Suresh Dhaka and were raiding their hideouts at various places. While Suresh Dhaka is still on the run, Bhupendra was arrested from Bengaluru airport after a tip off.
