NEET UG 2024 Exams in Rajasthan Marred by Irregularities
NEET UG 2024: The NEET UG 2024 exams in Rajasthan, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on May 5, 2024, were marked by various irregularities across different regions of the state.
Dummy Candiates Caught Across State
Authorities arrested 8 dummy candidates in Jodhpur, Barmer, and Bharatpur. These individuals, identified as current MBBS students, allegedly accepted sums ranging from Rs 10 to 20 lakh to impersonate other candidates in the exam.
Sawai Madhopur Students Protested
Meanwhile, in Sawai Madhopur, students staged protests after encountering significant discrepancies in their exam papers. Hindi medium students were given English medium papers, while English medium candidates were handed Hindi medium papers. This mix-up disrupted the examination process and led to frustration among the examinees.
Additionally, a delay in the distribution of exam papers occurred at a school in Jaipur, resulting in a delayed start to the examination by approximately half an hour. This delay further added to the already tense atmosphere surrounding the NEET UG 2024 exams in Rajasthan.
Udaipur Exam Centers
During the exam in Udaipur, everything went smoothly with tight security and thorough checks. It took place in 20 different centers, and a whopping 95% of students showed up. Out of the 9606 registered for the exam, 9188 appeared for the exam. The Biology and Chemistry questions were straight out of the NCERT textbooks. Experts say the paper was mostly on the easier side, with a few medium-level questions added in.
These incidents highlight the need for stricter monitoring and oversight to ensure the integrity and fairness of such crucial examinations. Authorities are expected to conduct thorough investigations into the reported irregularities and take necessary actions to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
