Dr Ajit Kumar Karnatak appointed Vice Chancellor of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology
Farmers prosperity is his first priority
Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnatak has been appointed Vice Chancellor of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technnology (MPUAT) on cOctober 15. Dr Ajit takes over the mantle of VC of MPUAT from Dr. Narendra Singh Rathore. The Governor of Rajasthan and Honorable Chancellor of MPUAT had finalised the name of Dr. Aji Kumar earlier on 29 September.
The ceremony for handing over the mantle of VC of MPUAT was conducted at the MPUAT Guest House on 15 October. Prof IV Trivedi, Vice Chancellor of MLSU and acting Vice Chancellor of MPUAT handed over the chair to Dr. Ajit. Dr Trivedi has been acting VC of MPUAT after the retirement of Dr. Rathore in August 2022. Dr. IV Trivedi was acting VC of MPUAT for a period of 52 days, during which he took part in substantial decisions and meetings, that of the Academic Council annd Management being the significant one.
In a statement given to the media, Dr. Ajit Kumar explained that one of the reasons he wants to make farmers prosperous is that doing so will lead to numerous innovations and an increase in the revenue of farmers. In an interview with local media, he stated that they will link many impoverished farmers with the institution. He said that whatever agricultural opportunities Udaipur may have, action would be done to investigate and enhance them. Speaking to all of the senior executives, he remarked that by maintaining a positive outlook, we can all contribute to the university's growth.
About Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnatak
Prior to taking over the VC of MPUAT, Dr Ajit was Vice Chancellor of Veer Chandrasingh Garhwali Uttarakhand University of Horticulture and Forestry, Dehradun and a member of the Administration and monitoring team at GBPUAT, Pantnagar. He was served in many universities in administration positions and in many colleges as faculty.
Dr. Ajit has done PhD in Entomology from GBPUAT, Pantnagar and he is expert in Apiculture Insect Pest Management of Rice, Wheat and Sugarcane Ecosystem, Soil Bayota Management, Administration and Human Resource management.
