An automated library, retail shoppe, and a family and consumer Counseling centre was inaugurated today at the College of Community and Applied Science, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur.

The RFID based automated library system, the retail shoppe and the Counseling centre were inaugurated by Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Professor Narendra Singh Rathore. In his address, Prof Rathore urged everyone to take maximum advantage of all the facilities provided by the above centres and lay the foundation for future success. While appreciating the centers being set up by all the departments, he expressed confidence that experts should understand the technical side of these counseling centers and strengthen its practical side so that public confidence can increase and they can benefit from them over time.

Prof Rathore appreciated the work done by the Dean, Dr. Meenu Srivastava and said that it was relevant from the point of view of community development.

The main objective of the Retail Shoppe is to provide garments, decor items, bakery products prepared by the students under one roof, so that the students can develop employablity understanding and get motivated towards self-employment.

As a result of RFID automation of the library, more and more number of latest books and journals will be available to the students. Along with this, monitoring of books and borrowings will be ensured. Students will not be able to come out through the security gate without proper checks. In his address, Prof Rathore also encouraged all the students of the college to use the digital library to its optimal capacity.

The aim of the Family Counseling Center is to protect the individual from psycho-social difficulties in the family and community as a result of the changing social environment and to improve their well-being.

The Consumer Guidance and Counseling Cell will make the public aware about the rights of the consumer so that they can buy and sell with full discretion in the market and avoid being cheated.
