CBSE: 75% Attendance Requirement for Class 10th and 12th Board Exams in 2025

It is essential for schools to keep accurate and up-to-date attendance records

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that students must maintain a minimum of 75% attendance to qualify for the Class 10 and 12 board examinations in 2025. This directive is part of the CBSE Examination By-Laws and emphasizes the role of schools in monitoring student attendance.

Schools are required to clearly communicate this attendance policy to both students and parents. In cases of medical emergencies, students must submit a leave application along with valid medical documentation promptly. For any other absences, students need to provide a valid written reason.

It is essential for schools to keep accurate and up-to-date attendance records. The CBSE will conduct surprise inspections to verify these records.

In cases where a student falls short of the attendance requirement, parents must submit a formal request, along with relevant supporting documents and reasons for the absence. The school will review these requests and recommend them for condonation based on CBSE guidelines. Schools are responsible for forwarding these cases to the regional office by the specified deadlines.
