JEE Main 2023: NTA will release the JEE MAIN 2023 Score Card on 28 April

10 Questions dropped by NTA from JEE(Main) Session 2 papers.

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2023 session 2 result is anticipated to be released soon by the National Testing Agency (NTA), as per media reports. However, the provisional answer key has been released today on April 24, 2023. The Session 2 examinations were conducted from April 6-15. 

During the day, there were indications of the result being announced towards evening on 24 April, but the NT just released the final provisional key. As per the statement of an official of the NTA to a leading newspaper. The release of the final answer key is an indication of the results being in place and will be announced at any point in time now. The candidates can check their result on https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/. On April 19, 2023, the provisional answer key was released, and candidates had the chance to raise objections. Now Students will no longer be able to raise queries after the final key is released. 

In India, JEE Main examinations are for undergraduate engineering and architecture courses. The exam is held twice a year in January and April. Paper-1 is for B.E/B.Tech and Paper-2 for B.Arch/B.Planning. The exams are also conducted for admissions to other engineering colleges in India that are not part of the IITs or NITs. 

Once released students can check their result online at the official website:

  1. Check the official website.
  2. Tap on the JEE Main session 2 link.
  3. Click on the result link.
  4. Enter date of birth, application number and password.
  5. The result will be displayed.

What will the JEE Main result sheet contain:

  1. Student’s name
  2. Roll Number
  3. Date of Birth
  4. Mother’s Name
  5. Father’s Name
  6. Category
  7. State code of Eligibility
  8. Nationality
  9. Subject-wise score
  10. Total Marks

Dropped Questions

As per reports the NTA has dropped a total of 10 questions from the JEE Main Session 2 from across various shifts as per the final provisional answer key. Once a question from a MCQ question is dropped the NTA awards 4 marks to each candidate who got the paper from which the question has been dropped, irrespective of whether the question was attempted or not. For Non MCQ, the four marks will be awarded only to those who attempted  the question. No question was dropped from the First Shift paper of 6 April, while 1 Question was dropped from the Second Shift paper on 6 April. Two questions, both in the Chemistry section were dropped for the First shift paper (one dropped only for the Hindi version), while 1 question was dropped in the second shift paper of 8 April.  2 questions each were dropped from the first shift paper of 10 April and second shift paper of 11 April, while 1 question each was dropped from the first shift papers of 12 and 13 April respectively.

JEE ADVANCED

The top 2,50,000 candidates across all the categories will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced paper, which will be held on June 4. Paper 1 will be held from 9am-12pm while Paper 2 will be held from 2:30pm till 5:30pm.  The results of JEE Advanced are expected to be announced on 18 June and counselling will begin from June 19.
