Students from the College of Architecture at Mohanlal Sukhadia University (MLSU) are now working on a vital project to document Mewar's heritage sites. This initiative is part of their "Measurement Drawing" course and aims to aid in preserving these historical treasures.

A group of 16 second-year Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch.) students has started creating detailed measurement drawings of notable sites. They have already completed reports on Gangodbhuv Kund and Sundar Baori. Future work will extend to other monuments in the Udaipur district, overseen by the Rajasthan Archaeology Department.

Reports Topics

The students reports cover various aspects including the condition of the heritage sites, construction techniques, historical context, and surrounding biodiversity. The focus is on architectural details such as construction methods, floor plans, and structural measurements.

This project not only helps students learn about ancient architecture but also provides valuable documentation for government preservation efforts. The initiative, supported by INTACH, highlights the importance of preserving and understanding our architectural heritage.
