Results of JEE Main 2023 were declared at 4:50am on 29 April 2023
The results of the JEE Main, a premier examination conducted by the National Testing Agency for entry into top Engineering colleges of India were declared on 29 April, in the wee hours.
As per the details provided by the NTA, JEE Main was conducted in two sessions - January 2023 and April 2023. For candidates who appeared in both the sessions, a best of two score was selected and ranks were given accordingly. Three papers were conducted - Paper 1 for BTech/BE, Paper 2(A) for B.Arch and Paper 2(B) for B. Planning. All the examinations were conducted under Computer Based Testing (CBT) mode. The JEE Main is among the top Engineering College admission examinations, followed by other premier examinations like BITSAT, MET, SRMJEE, VITJEE, MHT-CET, COMEDK, etc.
Lannguage and Centres
The JEE Main was held in 13 languages, viz. Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. The Examination was conducted at 457 unique examination centres in 325 Cities [including 23 cities outside India in Manama, Brasilia, Toronto, Beijing, Paris, Berlin, Doha, Dubai, Sharjah, Kathmandu, Muscat, Oslo, Riyadh, Sharjah, Singapore, Kuwait City, Kuala Lumpur, Lagos/Abuja, Colombo, Jakarta, Vienna, Moscow, Port Louis/Reduit, and Bangkok]. The Cities of Brasilia, Toronto, Berlin, Paris, Oslo were added for the first time.
Participating Candidates
The total candidates who applied for the JEE Main 2023 Paper 1 (BTech) Session 2 in April was 9,31,510 of which 8,83,372 (94.83%) appeared for the examination.

How the JEE MAIN Examination was monitored:
The Examination was monitored in the following ways:
- Central Control Room was opened to monitor and facilitate the smooth conduct of the Examination on the ground. 02 National Coordinators, 18 Regional Coordinators, 286 City Coordinators, and approx. 583 Observers were positioned.
- Live CCTV Surveillance was planned in all examination centres to curb malpractices in the examination. The NTA also made arrangements for live viewing of remote locations of all examination centres from the Control Room located in the NTA premises of New Delhi. Recording of CCTV Systems was also done.
- The examination centres were also monitored using AI-based Video Analytics and virtual observers.
- In order to stop cheating using mobile networks, Jammers were installed in all the Centres.
- Candidates were given an opportunity for both Sessions to see their responses to the Question Papers and to challenge the Answer Keys. The Final Answer Keys of Paper I have also been displayed for both sessions on JEE (Main) website: https://jeemain.nta.nic.in.

Candidate Performance
43 Candidates across all categories scored a 100 NTA Score in JEE Main 2023. Singaraju Venkat Koundinya from Telangana, Kallakuri Sainadh Srimanth from Andhra Pradesh and Ishan Khandelwal from Rajasthan were among the top three candidates. Of the 43 NTA 100 scorers, 11 belong to Telangana, 5 from Andhra Pradesh, 5 from Rajasthan, 4 from Uttar Pradesh, 3 from Gujarat, 3 from Karnataka, 2 each from Delhi (NCT) and Maharashtra and 1 each from Haryana, Chandigarh, West Bengal, Kerala, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Chhatisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.

Category wise Toppers
Singaraju Venkat Koundinya topped the General Category with a 100 Score, Kallakuri Sainadh Srimanth topped the General - EWS Category with a 100 NTA Score, Allam Sujay topped the OBC - NCL category with a 100 NTA score, Deshank Pratap Singh topped the SC category with a 100 score, Dheeravath Thanuj topped the ST category with a NTA score of 99.9904065 and Dipen Sojitra with a NTA Score of 99.995942 topped the Physical Disability category.
As per NTA, the score card of 15 candidates were withheld on account of using unfair means.
