NEET UG 2024 Results Released Amid Controversy and Supreme Court Hearings
The National Testing Agency (NTA), following a directive from the Supreme Court, has released the NEET UG 2024 results city-wise and centre-wise on July 20, 2024. Candidates can check their results on the official websites: exams.nta.ac.in/NEET/ and neet.ntaonline.in.
Initially, the NEET UG results were announced on June 5, 2024. However, the Supreme Court has been hearing multiple petitions and allegations of paper leaks since then. The court will resume hearing pleas on July 22, 2024. These pleas seek the cancellation of the exam, a re-test, and a court-monitored investigation into the alleged malpractice in the medical entrance exam.
On July 18, Justices J B Pardiwala and Manoj Misra questioned the Centre’s claim that the alleged leak of question papers in Hazaribagh occurred just one hour before the exam. The bench termed this claim as far-fetched.
This year, nearly 23 lakh candidates appeared for NEET UG at 4,750 centers in 571 cities, including 14 cities abroad.
