Parental Consent a must for those appearing for CA examinations in July 2021

Those who are appearing for the CA examinations being conducted by ICAI in July this year must obtain Parental Consent. However, those suffering from fever on the day of the examination will not be permitted for the examination.

Students will only be allowed to appear for the CA exam when they arrive with a consent form signed by their parents, according to the Institute of Chartered Accountancy of India (ICAI). In addition, before downloading the admit cards for the CA July examination, the candidates must give their consent to follow the ICAI's prescribed norms. This comes after students demanded that the exam must be postponed.

“While the admit card will be printed online the candidates have to give consent to follow various guidelines issued by the Governmental authorities as also by the ICAI. They shall also undertake that they are appearing in this examination with the full consent and permission their parents/guardian," said ICAI in its official statement.

Further candidates having fever higher than usual will not be allowed to enter the exam centre.

“Candidates and other functionaries having a body temperature of more than the prescribed limit will not be allowed entry in the examination centre. However, their record will be maintained," read the official notice.

In July 2021, ICAI issued the CA examination guidelines. ICAI states that 192 districts have established examination centres so that applicants do not have to travel.

ICAI in the official statement said, “Adequate measures are being taken for the safety of all without compromising the high standards, sanctity, and fairness in the conduct of the examination."

While candidates are required to bring their own mask, water bottle, and 50/100mL sanitizer bottle, the examination centres must ensure that the superintendent keeps masks on hand for candidates who report needing a face mask or if the mask malfunctions during an examination appearance, according to the ICAI.

Masks, gloves, social distance, and sanitization of examination rooms will be mandatory. According to the ICAI's standards, students will be allowed to leave the exam centre in a staggered manner starting at 5 pm, with an adequate time gap between exits of candidates of two adjacent rooms. All examination workers must have the "No Risk" status in the Aarogya Setu App on their phones. Candidates must arrive one hour before the exam and the report time, according to the rules.

“As an exception due to COVID -19 precautions, candidates will be allowed to leave the examination centre from 4:00 PM onwards and the entry to the examination centre shall be allowed from 1.00 PM onwards for July 2021 Examination," says ICAI.
