Social Emotional Value Education to be Introduced in Rajasthan Schools
Rajasthan’s School Education Department is set to introduce Social Emotional Value Education for students. An MoU has been signed between the department and Hema Foundation for this initiative. The program aims to teach children how to understand and manage their emotions effectively.
A workshop will be held in Jaipur on September 25, 2024, to prepare for the launch of this program. The workshop will be attended by Chief District Education Officers from 33 districts, principals of 639 PM Shri Schools, and 33 ADPCs. Officials from the Hema Foundation, Mumbai, will provide guidance on implementing the project in schools.More than 35 principals from Udaipur's PM Shri schools will attend the meeting.
In the first phase, the initiative will be introduced in PM Shri schools. It is expected to begin in the current academic session and be implemented by December 2024.
During the workshop, a detailed action plan for the annual work plan and budget activities for PM Shri schools in 2024-25 will also be presented. PM Shri schools, supported by the central government, receive over one crore rupees annually to develop basic infrastructure.
Social Emotional Learning (SEL) focuses on teaching children based on their emotions. This method helps children develop self-awareness, self-regulation, and social awareness, which are crucial for their success in school, career, and life.
