Same Uniform for Govt and Private Schools? State Education Minister's New Guidelines

Teachers to follow dress code; digital attendance system for students; Government schools to open from April 1

Oct 28, 2025 - All offices under the School Education, Sanskrit Education and the Panchayati Raj departments across Rajasthan will now open with the rashtriya geet and close with the rashtriya gaan. This was was told by State Education Minister Madan Dilawar during a media interaction yesterday in Kota.

Minister Dilawar, who oversees the three departments, also said that henceforth, all employees will be required to arrive on time and mark their attendance twice daily—in the morning and evening. This directive will apply to offices from Zila Parishads and Panchayat Samitis to Gram Panchayats.

The Minister announced that government schools will now reopen for the new session from April 1, in line with CBSE schools. If a student remains absent, their parents will receive a message on their registered phone number. Attendance of students in government schools will also be digitally monitored.

Minister Dilawar emphasised that students will receive their textbooks promptly at the start of the academic session and this will give them time to study during the summer vacations.

The Education Minister further said that all government and private schools will now have the same uniform to promote a sense of equality among students. He clarified that ties will not be included in the uniform. Shirts, pants, skirts and shoes will be the same for all students.

He also announced that teachers will now wear uniforms as well. A common dress code is being finalised for all teachers, and ID cards will be issued to them. Similarly, students will also be provided with ID cards.
