UGC NET 2024 introduces Disaster Management as new subject

The University Grants Commission–National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) for the year 2024 is scheduled to be held on June 18, 2024. This biannual examination, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), will take place across various cities in India, including Udaipur. Candidates who have registered for the exam can now download their admit cards from the official UGC NET website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in.

In a recent announcement, a new subject titled "Disaster Management" has been introduced in the UGC-NET syllabus. According to a notification issued by the UGC, this decision was made during the Commission's 580th meeting on May 15, 2024, based on recommendations from an expert committee. Starting from December 2024, Disaster Management will be included as an additional subject alongside the existing 83 subjects covered in the examination. The detailed syllabus for Disaster Management can be accessed on the UGC NET website at www.ugcnetonline.in.

The UGC-NET is a crucial examination in India, serving as a gateway for individuals aspiring to secure assistant professor positions in universities and colleges nationwide, as well as for those seeking Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) opportunities. The addition of Disaster Management reflects evolving academic needs and the importance of this field in addressing contemporary challenges.
