Udaipur is becoming a preferred destination for filmmakers, with a growing interest from Bollywood and regional cinema. Filmmaker Vipin Tiwari is set to shoot his upcoming Rajasthani film, "Tu Deepak, Main Bati," in Udaipur starting this month. The film's poster was unveiled on Friday, October 7,2024 at Ashoka Palace in Shobhagpura.

Movie’s Plot

Produced under M Square Production, this film will tackle sensitive issues like child marriage and the "Udharan" tradition. It is based on a true story from a village in Tonk district, where a girl is married off as a child. Her husband joins the army and becomes a martyr before she turns 18. According to the Udharan tradition, she performs reverse rounds (feres) around his dead body, marking the beginning of the story, which will also explore various social and familial issues.

Filming will take place not only in Udaipur but also in Jaipur, Kota, and Tonk. The cast will feature actors from Rajasthani cinema alongside Bollywood talent. Directed by Amitabh Tiwari, the film's music is composed by Amit Ojha and Nizam Khan, with local artists from Udaipur also involved in the project.
