Udaipur, March 3, 2025 - The 97th Academy Awards took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Hosted by comedian Conan O’Brien, the ceremony honored winners across 23 categories. For the first time, the Oscars were streamed live on JioHotstar.

India-set short film "Anuja," backed by Guneet Monga and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, was nominated in the Best Live Action Short category. However, the award went to "I’m Not a Robot," a sci-fi short directed by Victoria Warmerdan.

Palestinian and Israeli Documentary Wins

The documentary "No Other Land," which highlights Palestinians' struggle to protect their homes from demolition by Israel’s military, has won the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature. The film, a collaboration between Israeli and Palestinian filmmakers, triumphed over Porcelain War, Sugarcane, Black Box Diaries, and Soundtrack to a Coup d’État at the Academy Awards.
