Mumbai, Aug 15, 2025: The audience has been waiting for Sunny Deol’s patriotic film Border 2 for a long time. JP Dutta’s movie Border, released in 1997, became so popular that now its sequel is coming after 33 years. The shooting of the film is almost complete, and now its new release date has been announced.

Today, on Independence Day, the release date of Sunny Deol’s patriotic film Border 2 has been changed. On August 15, Sunny Deol shared the motion poster of Border 2 on his Instagram account. In the poster, Sunny Deol is seen in full patriotic mode with a weapon in his hand, wearing an army uniform that suits him perfectly. Sharing the poster, he wrote, “We will fight for Hindustan. Once again.” The film will now release in theatres a day earlier than planned — instead of January 23, it will release on January 22, 2026.

Border 2 Star Cast

Border 2, directed by Anurag Singh, will feature three stars alongside Sunny Deol — Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, and Diljit Dosanjh. Ahan and Diljit have already finished shooting their parts, while Varun and Sunny are still filming theirs.

There are talks that Medha Rana, Sonam Bajwa, and Rashmika Mandanna will play lead roles in the movie. This time, the story will be based on a real-life hero. The first Border movie had a 7.9 IMDb rating and was a blockbuster at the box office. Now, it will be interesting to see how the audience responds to Border 2.
