Creator Seth Rogen talks about how John Cena came to become the voice of Rocksteady in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Get set to witness the magic and nostalgia of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the big screen this August. Paramount Pictures and Viacom18 Studios are all set to release Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Mutant Mayhem pan India in English and Hindi on September 1.

Leading the pack of this motley group of Turtle maniacs are none other than producer and creator Seth Rogen. The film boasts of a star-studded cast, including Jackie Chan as the voice of Splinter, the vocal talents of John Cena, Post Malone, Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, Brady Noon, and Maya Rudolph.

Whilst the soul of the film are forever going to be the turtles, no Turtles movie would be complete without Bebop and Rocksteady, the violent, not terribly intelligent, mutant warthog and rhinoceros. Seth Rogen couldn’t resist stepping into the very large boots of Bebop. Partly because he thought it would be a fun contrast to the last time he played a warthog, as Pumbaa in The Lion King. “I only play warthog-type creatures!” he laughs of his potential to be typecast from here on in.

Opposite him as Rocksteady is the action star and brilliant comic actor John Cena. “I had this funny idea of Bebop and Rocksteady being two angry New York bros,” says Rogen. “I love John Cena and whether I was Bebop or Rocksteady, it was ultimately somewhat interchangeable in my head. But the idea of being a part of the Bebop and Rocksteady team with John was something I knew that I wanted.”
