 41st Edition of the Mass Wedding for the Differently Abled by Narayan Seva Sansthan, Udaipur

Bindoli Procession on 10 February initiated the Wedding events with show and pomp across Udaipur 
 

The 41st edition of the Mass Wedding for the Differently Abled, organised by Udaipur's Narayan Sevan Sansthan commenced on 10 February.

The two-day mass marriage ceremony for the destitute and disabled young men and women from across the nation began with the installation of Ganpati at Seva Mahatirtha. At 5:30pm, the Bindoli procession was taken out with great pomp from the Udaipur Municipal Corporation premises. The procession, led by decorated buggies accompanied by 51 pairs of bandwagons and passing through the main roads of the city enthralled all and sundry.

The procession draped the route across Surajpol, Bapu Bazar, Delhi Gate to come back to the UMC premises. Welcome gates and refreshment counters were set up on the route by various social and business organizations. As soon as Bindoli was flagged off by Founder Chairman Kailash 'Manav' President Prashant Aggarwal, Vandana Aggarwal, Kamala Devi Aggarwal, Devendra Chaubisa and the bridesmaids, the sky lit up with rainbow fireworks. In front of the queue of carriages of the bride and groom, a large number of guests and students of the institute were dancing to the melodious tunes of the band squads. The atmosphere was such that even passers-by could not stop themselves from dancing.

Institute President Prashant Aggarwal said that after Ganpati Vandana in the morning session, Haldi and Mehndi rituals were completed on traditional melodious music. During this, the donors along with the family members of the couples sitting in the pandal danced with full enthusiasm. After this, the special guest of the function, former MLA Gyandev Ahuja, Sohan Chadda from America, Kunwarbhai from Kenya, Mahesh Aggarwal and Gopal Khaitan of Mumbai, Anand Paratania of Orissa and hundreds of charitable Bhamashahs and Kanyadanis were honoured.

He said that the marriage ceremony of all 51 couples will start with various traditional rituals on Sunday at 11:00 am in the premises of the institute located in Badi village. All the couples will be gifted household items followed by their farewell.
