Fateh Sagar Comes Alive with 'Run for Developed Rajasthan'
Scores of people turn out on the lakefront to participate in marathon celebrating the first anniversary of the State Government; winners of various events also honoured
Udaipur, December 13, 2024 - Scores of people participated in the Run for Developed Rajasthan marathon along the picturesque Fateh Sagar Lake yesterday to mark the first anniversary of the Bhajan Lal Sharma government. The marathon was jointly organised by the district administration and the Regional Sports Training Centre.
Jitendra Singh Bhati, skating coach from Maharana Pratap Sports Village, led the way along with the youngest participant, five-year-old skater Vivaan Jingle who held the national flag. The marathon was flagged off by Udaipur Municipal Commissioner, Ram Prakash from the Kala Kiwad point and ended at Taya Palace on the Dewali lake point. Participants moved forward with chants of Bharat Mata ki Jai rending the air.
District Sports Officer Dr Mahesh Paliwal, SWEEP Coordinator Dr Devilal Garg, Assistant Director of College Education Dr Satish Acharya, ADPC Virendra Yadav, Nursing College Principal Dr Ranjit Bairwa, District Education Officer Lakshman Salvi, and other officers and staff from various government and private educational institutions, NCC, NSS, Scouts and Guides, took part in the event.
The closing ceremony was held near Taya Palace. In the presence of ADJ Kuldeep Sharma and Commissioner Ram Prakash, winners of the One District-One Sport archery competition and the marathon were awarded prizes. National archery players Dina Kalasua and Chattarlal Vadera were also honoured. All participating institutions were presented with mementos as a token of appreciation.
The marathon was one of the many events planned to celebrate the one year anniversary of the current Rajasthan government.
