Shilpgram: Classical Festival 'Malhar' to Begin on August 24

The Western Regional Cultural Centre will host 'Malhar,' a two-day classical music and dance festival, from August 24 to 25, 2024, at the Darpan Auditorium in Shilpgram. This vibrant cultural event promises an enriching experience with performances by some of India’s most esteemed artists.

Event Highlights: August 24, 2024 

On  7:00 PM, the festival will commence with a sitar performance by Dr. Ashwin M. Dalvi, known for his expertise in the "Sur Bahar" style. His performance will set a classical tone for the evening. Following this, Harish Gangani will take the stage to showcase his Kathak dance skills. Kathak is a classical dance form known for its intricate footwork and expressive storytelling.

August 25, 2024

The day will begin with a performance by Pt. Chetan Joshi, celebrated for his distinctive flute style. His music promises to captivate the audience with its melodic richness.

The festival will conclude with a dance performance by Padma Shri Ranjana Gauhar. She will present a dance in the "Nrityadhara" segment, which highlights her expertise and contributions to classical dance.
