Another hole in the pocket as food material goes expensive
Lack of supplies has brought about a lot of change in the pricing
Possibilities of a drop in price after fresh stocks arrive
The kitchen is in for trouble as the basic food products like grains and vegetables are touching the higher side on the graph. This is causing a bad effect and the hole in the pocket is growing bigger.
It is yet another point that the festive season brings a jump in the cost of raw materials, clothes, and all those things which are connected to the basic necessities. The supplies of raw materials are also suffering due to the pandemic.
It has however been pointed out that once the supplies get back to normal, a drop in the rates of vegetables and grains might be observed. Till then, one will have to bear with the high rates. The supplies are not as per demand in the present times, but it is being expected that once we start getting supplies from Madhya Pradesh a drop in the vegetable price is most certain.
During Diwali season, since we get supplies from other places as well, it is quite likely that the price tags will bring smiles back on the face of consumers. It may also be noted that vegetables saw a rise of 8 to 10 rupees per kg and grains went up by almost 20 rupees a kg. Even the cooking oils went up by 150 to 300 rupees (15 litre tin). Now everybody is expecting relief at the earliest.
