War for Pure-Adulterated sweet mava seized

Samples of sweets and ingredients required for making sweets are constantly being tested for purity.

-360 kg of mava was seized on Wednesday.

-Action will be taken against all the vendors who are found selling adulterated food products.

The war-for-pure is on and the Department for Food Safety is constantly taking samples to test them for purity. Adulteration of food items is quite a common practice everywhere very especially during festive season.

Samples were taken this Wednesday in the ongoing campaign to keep a check on the various sweets and namkin shops. Sweets, ingredients for making sweets etc. were taken from 3 firms dealing in sweets. The samples taken from the shops have been sent for lab testing.

360 kg of sweet mava was seized from M/S Choudhary Mava Bhandar in Nokha. If the food adulteration report proves that the mava is adulterated, action will be taken against the vendor. Apart from this samples of refined palmolein oil were also taken from M/S Vishal Namkin Products at Kumharon ka Bhatta and malai barfi was spot tested at M/S Jai Shree Jodhpur Mishtann Bhandar at Tekri choraha. Mava barfi samples from Prajapat Mishtann Bhandar, turmeric powder samples from Nakoda traders and icecandy feeka mava samples were taken from M/S Jhulelal.

It is quite a common practice that the vendors try to make more money by adulterating the food products and with the festive season on, they become more and more active. It is high time that vendors realise that they are playing with the lives of people which is a big crime.
