Immunisation of infants is set to get more convenient and organised with launch of digital lockets in Udaipur. Starting next month, these digital lockets are planned to be given to newborns who are delivered in any of the 81 selected sub-health centres in Udaipur.

The digital locket is called “Khushi Baby”. It contains a chip that will carry details of the child along with the immunisation details and will be updated regularly through the tablets that will be provided to ANMs (Auxiliary nurse midwife). These tablets will be provided at all the 81 sub-centres.

Giving out additional details, Dr Ashok Aditya, Reproductive Child Health officer(RCHO), Udaipur said that the drive will be run by the district admnistration in conjunction with and NGO run by one Ruchir Nagar.

Dr Ashok said that currently they give out Mamta Card to mothers for keeping a track of immunisation details. Going forward the details of immunisation will be updated in the digital locker every time a child is immunised.

District Collector Rohit Gupta said that admnistration will provide logistrical support to the NGO which is driving the implementation.

Once the pilot is successful in these 81 sub-centres, the facility may be extended to the balance sub-centres. Udaipur currently has 647 sub-centres.
