RNT hospital’s management has announced the purchase of two new cath lab machines, a move expected to bring much-needed relief to thousands of heart patients. One machine will be provided by the state government, while the other will come from the DMFT fund.
The cardiology department currently serves over 80,000 patients annually. In 2023 alone, 82,000 patients were treated, with 6,000 of them receiving care in the In-Patient Department (IPD).
With the hospital gaining increasing trust among patients, more individuals from remote areas are seeking treatment here. To accommodate the rising number of patients, the cardiology facilities are being expanded.
Overview of the Cardiology Department
- 82,000 patients received OPD treatment in the year 2023.
- 6,000 patients received treatment in the IPD.
- 4,500 patients undergo angiography/angioplasty in the cath lab every year.
- 05 patients undergo primary angioplasty every month.
- The department has 72 beds, 32 of which are in the ICU.
- One DM Cardiology seat was obtained in 2006.
- Five DM Cardiology seats were added in 2021.
- 25 medical students have obtained a DM degree so far.
