Rs 349 Lakh Equipment Upgrade for Ambamata Satellite Hospital

Paediatrics, Anaesthesia and Gynaecology from MB Hospital and Pannadhay Women’s Hospital moved to Ambamata Satellite facility

Udaipur, July 12, 2025 – The Ambamata Satellite Hospital has received an administrative and financial go-ahead for the purchase of medical equipment worth Rs 349 lakh. This is based on the budget announcement for the year 2024-25. Under this approval, equipment such as laparoscopy machines for gynaecology and surgery, 4D colour Doppler sonography machines and other devices will be procured. The installation of a CT scan machine is also proposed.

Those departments in the Super Specialty hospital that currently face delays in surgeries owing to the lack of operation theatres will also be able to conduct procedures here.

Two months ago, Medical Secretary Ambrish Kumar conducted an inspection of the Ambamata Satellite Hospital. During his visit, he issued key directives to shift important departments - Paediatrics, Anaesthesia and Gynaecology - from MB Hospital and Pannadhay Women’s Hospital to the Ambamata Satellite facility.

The aim of this directive was a significant step towards improving healthcare accessibility in the region. This will help develop super-specialty services at Ambamata Satellite Hospital, reduce patient load on MB Hospital and Pannadhay Hospital and equip the Satellite Hospital with advanced medical equipment and specialist doctors. It will, more importantly, ensure 24/7 availability of gynaecology and paediatric care.

Following this, RNT Medical College Principal Dr Vipin Mathur issued orders to relocate these three units to the satellite hospital.
