Student alleges Faculty member for manhandling

Students of the Department of Computer Science expressed anger as one of fellow student was allegedly assaulted by a faculty member in the computer lab today morning.

Students of the Department of Computer Science expressed anger as one of fellow student was allegedly assaulted by a faculty member in the computer lab today morning.

The student alleged that the faculty member intentionally hit the student unnecessary, while the faculty member denied assaulting and charged that student was allegedly watching movies during the lab timings.

Anguished students forced shutdown the college and called Pankaj Borana, Student President of Mohan Lal Sukhadia University and Dr. Venugopalan, In-charge of Computer Centre, MLSU. Borana soon reached the spot and took the situation under control.

Meanwhile, Dr. Venugopalan reached the college premises and called the student and the faculty member to resolve the matter.

Dr. Venugopal said, “After his apology to the student, I have pulled out the faculty member from his lab duty and now he will not work in the lab. Also, I have advised the students that discipline in the computer lab should be maintained”.

“It is a matter of disrespect for the students, if he is physically hit by any faculty member. Everybody carries his own self esteem. The accused faculty member has apologized and has been warned by the student union for not carrying out any such act in future”, said, Pankaj Borana, President, MLSU.
