Do Property Deals create biggest Mafia in Town?

Kishan Chand has alleged that on Monday, 12th September, the accused Gajendra Singh Rathore entered his house and manhandled Kishan Chand. He said that his nephew, who is not mentally stable, was being coaxed by the mafia into selling off a huge chunk of land in his name to the mafia - to which Kishan Chand and his family were resisting, leading to threat by the Mafia

A few days back, we had published a reported FIR regarding a property dealer being kidnapped for ransom by a groups of goons who are active in the property business themselves – the land in question being one in Salumber.

It is interesting to note that over the last few years, more than 90% of hard criminal incidents have been assigned to cases involving deals on property and the activities of Property dealers who get associated with the Property mafia, the biggest underground nexus in Udaipur – result of looking at quick gains and appreciation in wealth irrespective of the path taken.

Fact is that even those who are doing this business with intended honesty, are being forced into the mafia nexus unknowingly as the industry is being unduly affected by anti-social elements.  Part time goons are being hired by dealers by making huge payouts to interfere in property deals and get things in their favor.

A fresh incident occurred a day back when even senior citizens are not spared by this mafia (diplomatically called Property Dealers).

An FIR was registered at the Hiran Magri Police Station earlier this week by a retired teacher, Kishan Chand (72).  As per the report, Kishan Chand was being harassed by Property Mafia and he had requested the SP to interfere – after which the accused was arrested for further interrogation and investigations.

Per the report, septuagenarian Kishan Chand has alleged that on Monday, 12th September, the accused Gajendra Singh Rathore entered his house and manhandled Kishan Chand.  He said that his nephew, who is not mentally stable, was being coaxed by the mafia into selling off a huge chunk of land in his name to the mafia – to which Kishan Chand and his family were resisting, leading to threat by the Mafia.

Kishan Chand said in his report that his brother, Ishwarlala had died in 1985.  The wife of the deceased, Ambabai, son Jagdish and daughter Durgabai were living under his care since then.  There was a lot of property on Jagdish’s name and unfortunately Jagdish is mentally challenged apart from being uneducated.

A few years back, just before the death of Ambabai, a plot in Jagdish’s name was sold off and the proceeds of Rs. 2 Crore was deposited in his bank account.  Since then, i.e. 2008, the property mafia are eyeing both his bank deposits and property and trying to coax him into transferring the land in their name.  An attempt had been made earlier, but was foiled with the intervention of the family members.

Kishan Chand has appealed to the Police to look into the matter seriously and ensure for their safety.  Police is looking into the matter.
