Banswara: 18 September 2023 Latest News Updates
In a recent development, the opening of the gates of Mahi Dam has had a significant impact on transportation in the Udaipur to Banswara and Madhya Pradesh corridor. Out of the 45 roadway buses that regularly operate on this route, a total of 27 were unable to run as usual. Furthermore, the disruption extended to the Lasada culvert located on the border of Banswara and Dungarpur. Due to the high water flow in this area, roadways operations were closed on Sunday 17 September, 2023, morning. This incident has led to inconvenience for commuters and highlights the challenges posed by natural events on vital transportation links.
Authorities are working diligently to assess and address the situation, with the aim of restoring normalcy to this important transportation route. Commuters are advised to stay informed about updates regarding the resumption of bus services in the affected areas.
Each day, a total of 39 buses ply the route from Udaipur to Banswara, with an additional 6 buses destined for Madhya Pradesh. However, on the recent Sunday in question, operations faced significant disruption. Specifically, 21 buses heading to Banswara and all 6 bound for Madhya Pradesh were unable to operate as scheduled. In an effort to mitigate the impact of this disruption, 18 of the Banswara-bound buses were rerouted and diverted through Sagwara. This measure aimed to provide alternative transportation options to affected passengers.
On a daily basis, Udaipur sees the operation of 2 buses to Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh, along with 1 bus each to Indore, Bhopal, Burhanpur, and Ujjain. These services, although affected by the Sunday disruptions, continue to be essential links for commuters in the region.
