Delhi-Mumbai Expressway via Udaipur is anticipated to become operational in 2024

It will also improve connectivity to cities such as Udaipur, Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Chittorgarh, Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Ahmedabad, Surat and Vadodara

 

The Delhi- Mumbai expressway which will be the longest expressway in India, is anticipated to become operational in 2024 with most of the construction work on the highway likely to be completed in the fiscal year 2023-24. It will be a 1,350 km eight lane highway expected to cover the distance between two in 12 hours. This will cross five states namely Rajasthan, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra.  It will also improve connectivity to cities such as Udaipur, Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Chittorgarh, Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Ahmedabad, Surat and Vadodara. 

The Delhi- Mumbai motorway will run from the DND flyover in Delhi and Sohna in Haryana to Virar and Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust in Maharashtra, making it the country’s largest motorway once completed. 

According to the reports the expressway construction took 80 lakh tonnes of cement and 10 lakh tonnes of steel. The total cost of the massive infrastructure project is estimated to be around Rs. 1,03,000 crores, with revenue from construction, roadside hotels, restaurants and petrol pumps.
