How to do Digital Payments through UPI using Credit Card
A feature enabling the linking of RuPay Credit Cards to the UPI (Unified Payment Interface) was released by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) in June 2022
Digital payments are gaining popularity every day since they are quick, simple, and handy because we can make payments from anywhere without worrying about carrying cash. A feature enabling the linking of RuPay credit cards to the UPI (Unified Payment Interface) was released by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). You no longer need a Point of Sale (POS) terminal to use your credit card in a shop. The first banks to allow the usage of the RuPay credit card on UPI are Punjab National Bank, Union Bank of India, and Indian Bank.
Prior until now, debit cards were the only means of payment. You may now link your UPI number to a credit card as well. Users were previously linking their bank account to UPI to make payments. In order to make payments more convenient and accessible, UPI later included the ability to integrate credit and debit cards. Linking a RuPay Credit Card to UPI follows the same steps as doing so for a UPI debit card. Only merchant payments using RuPay credit cards are supported by UPI.
Certain payments cannot be made using a RuPay credit card and UPI. You cannot use your own credit card to make a UPI payment into someone else's credit card. Using a RuPay credit card on UPI, you cannot send money to friends or relatives who have established separate UPI handles.
Its ease of usage, which just requires the scanning of a QR code or the entry of a mobile number connected to the default UPI address of the person or merchant to whom you desire to send money, is a major factor in its success. One may make payments using UPI applications without having to swipe a credit or debit card at a POS terminal. To finish the purchase, just scan the QR code and choose the extra credit or debit card as your method of payment. A one-time password (OTP) is provided to your registered mobile phone after you start a payment using the UPI app using a debit card or credit card. This allows you to finish the transaction. Currently, only Visa and MasterCard are supported by payment cards.
