Officer on Special Duty of the G20 Operations, Mr. Muktesh Pardeshi today said that the G20 meetings that will be held in different cities of the country over a period of one year will give a major boost to the country’s economic recovery.
Addressing a press conference at Udaipur, Rajasthan, Mr. Pardeshi said that it will augur well for enhancing tourism potential and strengthening the cultural aspect of the country. He said the G20 meetings will give a much required push to the employment generation which has been affected due to Covid-19 pandemic.
The senior official said that the G20 meetings that will be held under India’s presidency has become a people’s movement as masses are becoming part of the diplomatic event. He elucidated that people where the G20 events will be held are taking efforts to learn English and other foreign languages such as French. He said, people are enthusiastically trying to learn certain french words to greet the foreign delegates who would be part of the G20 delegation.
Stating that whole world is looking up to India, he said students, businesses and women should be brought under G20.
Pardeshi said that more than 200 meetings will be held during the whole year and various financial and developmental Decisions will have taken during that. And meeting will we held at different states of the country.The thought behind this Summit is that it should a people's meeting.
He said that Sherpa is a Nepali word that means a person that assist a climber and here, the Sherpas are the special convoy of the leaders.
By explaining the reason behind choosing Udaipur for this meeting Pardeshi said that this is the thought of the Government that the G20 summit will be held on policies of the country while the it will witness the cultures of the states.
He also said that the leaders coming to India can by themselves see that who the country has economically developed over the span of last 10 years.He said that Prime Minister have said that we have to promote it that the country is not only the largest democracy of the world but it is the mother of all democratic country.
Pardeshi who is also a Secretary to the Government of India stressed on upgrading the tourism related infrastructure where the G20 summits will be held. He informed that the G20 meetings will be held in each and every state of the country.
