The Supreme Court has gvien important guidelines regarding Aadhaar Card. Aadhaar Card as we all know is an important document. Earlier this document was used at various places as a legal document to get your things done but now the Supreme Court, through various rulings over the years, has given relief to people by making Aadhaar Card non-mandatory at various places.

On Monday, March 27, 2023, the Supreme Court declared that obtaining an Aadhaar (UID) number is not necessary to use government essential services, as per the sources. The Supreme Court's list of precedents are as follows:

• Admission to schools will no longer require an Aadhaar Card. Use of this document in the admissions process was previously required. 

• Children are eligible for a number of government schemes without having to provide their Aadhar cards. Children did not benefit from these schemes in the past since they lacked an Aadhaar card. 

• The SC, in its judgement, upheld the legal validity of linking Aadhar Card with PAN but provided partial relief, where the SC declared that the non-obtaining of an Aadhaar number would not lead to PAN becoming inoperative.

• Moreover, it's not necessary to link a mobile number to an Aadhaar. Mobile companies have no right to ask you to link your mobile number with Aadhaar. Aadhaar Card is mandatory only when you want to avail government subsidies. 

• Aadhaar will no longer be needed in UGC, NEET, CBSE. These education bodies cannot ask for Aadhaar, otherwise it will be considered as unconstitutional. 

• Private companies cannot ask for Aadhaar Card. They no longer have right to see your private details.
