The UIDAI has extended the deadline for free updates to Aadhaar card details until September 14, 2024, according to the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) website. There have been several extensions; initially scheduled for December 15, 2023, the deadlines were subsequently moved to March 14, then to June 14, and now to September 14.
Please be aware that the date of birth can be changed only once in the Aadhaar card. Furthermore, adjustments to the date of birth are limited to a maximum range of plus or minus three years from the originally recorded date during Aadhaar enrolment. Gender details can be modified only one time.
How to change Aadhaar details
- Visit https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ then log in with your Aadhaar number and the one-time password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number.
- Examine the identity and address details presented in your profile.
- If the information shown in your profile is accurate, please choose 'Confirm that the above details are correct.'
- Choose the identity document from the dropdown menu that you want to submit.
- Please upload your identity document (file size should be under 2 MB and in JPEG, PNG, or PDF format).
- Choose the address document from the dropdown menu that you intend to submit. Upload your address document, ensuring it is under 2 MB in size and in either JPEG, PNG, or PDF format.
- Select the 'submit' option.
Updating Aadhaar card details on the myAadhaar portal is free of charge, whereas offline updates incur a fee of ₹50.
