AI Voice Cloning: Exciting, Yet Terrifying — The Future of VO Artists & Presenters?
The technology is both thrilling and terrifying

As I write this newsletter, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and fear. Just two days ago, I created an AI news presenter that was well received and sparked plenty of conversations. However, yesterday, when I delved into the world of AI voice cloning, it blew my mind. The technology is both thrilling and terrifying, but as I share my experience with you, the scary side seems to outweigh the excitement.
My sister, Khushboo Sharma a popular YouTuber (Bollywood Thikana- https://www.youtube.com/@BollywoodThikana )with over 1.4 million subscribers, agreed to let me use her voice as a test subject for AI voice cloning. The results were astonishing, capturing my sister’s unique vocal nuances with near perfection. I must admit that I intentionally didn’t try to make the cloned voice perfect — it was just an experiment, after all.
Nevertheless, the resemblance was striking and raised several concerns about the potential impact of this technology on the job market. Voice cloning could threaten the livelihoods of voiceover artists, presenters, and radio jockeys who rely on their distinct voices to make a living.

Imagine a world where AI can mimic any voice, making it nearly impossible to tell the difference between the real person and the AI-generated clone. What would happen to our favourite radio hosts, charming presenters, and talented VO artists if their unique voices could be easily reproduced and replaced? The potential consequences are vast, including the loss of jobs and the diminished value of human creativity and talent.

As we continue to explore the world of AI and its capabilities, it’s crucial that we remain mindful of the impact on people and their professions. We should strive to develop and use AI responsibly, ensuring that it enhances human talent rather than replacing it.
The future of AI-generated voice cloning is uncertain, and the ethical implications are profound. We need open discussions and dialogue about the challenges and opportunities that
lie ahead. As a tech community, let’s work together to create a future where humans and AI can coexist peacefully, supporting each other instead of competing.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on AI-generated voice cloning and its potential implications. Let’s engage in a meaningful conversation and help shape a responsible, harmonious future for both humans and AI.
Stay curious and keep exploring,
