In a momentous decision on Saturday 2 September, 2023, the High Court approved the construction of a new building within court’s premises, featuring a total of 66 chambers. This decision has ignited a wave of jubilation among the legal community, particularly among advocates, who have tirelessly campaigned for this project for the past seven years. The newly sanctioned chambers will provide accommodations for a substantial number of advocates, totaling 264 individuals. In response to this exciting development, a dedicated committee is set to be established shortly to oversee the entire construction process. Once formed, this committee will initiate the process of inviting tenders for the construction project.

The construction itself is slated to commence on a vacant plot measuring 3,200 square feet, conveniently situated adjacent to the ADJ-4 court. This significant development promises to enhance the working conditions and facilities available to advocates within the High Court premises, marking a historic milestone in the legal community's ongoing efforts to improve its infrastructure.

Bar President Rakesh Mogra Highlights Weather Challenges Faced by Advocates at Court

Rakesh Mogra, the President of the Bar Association, has underscored the significant challenges that lawyers currently encounter while working in the open at the court, particularly during inclement weather conditions. The forthcoming construction of these chambers is poised to bring much-needed respite from these weather-related issues. In collaboration with DJ Court Judge Chanchal Mishra, an application was jointly submitted to the Jodhpur High Court on June 21st. This formal request sought permission for the construction of the proposed chambers, representing a crucial step towards alleviating the difficulties faced by legal practitioners.

Each of these chambers has been designed to comfortably accommodate four advocates, paving the way for an organized and conducive workspace for a total of 264 advocates. This endeavor aims not only to enhance the working conditions but also to ensure the well-being of legal professionals who serve at the court. Upon receiving approval for the construction project, Advocate DJ, accompanied by the Bar President, extended their gratitude to Chanchal Mishra.
