Week-Long Book Fair Opens Tomorrow at Suchna Kendra, Udaipur

More than 2,000 books will be on offer; creative activities to enthrall visitors

 

The National Book Trust of India is organizing a seven-day book fair in Udaipur starting tomorrow. This fair, which will conclude on September 26, 2024, will be held at the Suchna Kendra near Chetak Circle and will feature more than 2,000 books, according to Dr Kamlesh Shama, Joint Director of the Suchna Kendra.

Dr Sharma informed that the books on display will cover a wide range of subjects including arts, literature, history, general knowledge, children literature and much more.

According to Mukesh Kumar, assistant director of National Book Trust, visitors to the book fair will also be treated to various creative activities on all the days. The activities schedule will be as under:

September 20

  • Story-telling session for students - 10:00 am to 10:45 am
  • Painting competition - 11:00 am to 11:45 am
  • Author discussion - 12:00 noon to 12:45 pm

September 23

  • Storytelling session (led by an India Book Record holder) - 10:00 am to 10:45 am
  • Poster designing workshop - 11:00 am to 11:45 am
  • Theater workshop - 12:00 noon to 12:45 pm

September 24

  • Story-telling session - 10:00 am to 10:45 am
  • Bookmark designing workshop - 11:00 am to 11:45 am
  • Cartoon workshop - 12:00 noon to 12:45 pm

September 25

  • Storytelling session - 10:00 am to 10:45 am
  • Origami workshop - 11:00 am to 11:45 am
  • Book cover design workshop - 12:00 noon to 12:45 pm

September 26

  • Storytelling session - 10:00 am to 10:45 am
  • Mandana art workshop - 11:00 am to 11:45 am
  • Vedic mathematics plus entertainment activities - 12:00 noon to 12:45 pm
