By-Election 2024: Nov. 13 Declared Public Holiday in Salumber

District Collector makes arrangements to ensure smooth voting for the 156-Salumber by-election 2024 seat

 

Salumber, November 6, 2024 - District Collector and District Election Officer, Arvind Poswal, has issued an order declaring a public holiday in Salumber on November 13 on which day voting will be held for the 156-Salumber by-election 2024 seat. All offices in the constituency will be closed on the day. Schools designated as polling stations and for accommodating polling parties will additionally observe holiday on November 12.

Furthermore, private or public establishments, shops, industrial enterprises or businesses within the constituency are required to provide a paid holiday for workers on voting day.

Orders Issued by District Collector

District Collector Poswal has issued several orders to ensure smooth arrangements for the November 13 election. Chief District Education Officer Mahendra Kumar Jain has been appointed as coordinator to oversee all activities related to the dispatch, arrival and counting of polling parties to be conducted at Government Fateh Senior Secondary School, Udaipur.

The second training for micro-observers appointed for the by-election will be held on November 10 at 9:00 am at the District Council Hall, with the observer's consent. District Collector Poswal has instructed the officer-in-charge to coordinate all arrangements and conduct the training on the scheduled date.

Responsibilities have been given to officials and staff to ensure adequate arrangements for the accommodation and meals of polling parties. The ARO, sector officers, municipal commissioners, chief district education officers, development officers and municipal executive officers will monitor these arrangements.

The third training session for the polling teams will be conducted on November 12 at 7:30 am at Government Fateh Senior Secondary School, Udaipur. The District Collector has directed the establishment of Voter Assistance Centres at all polling stations. CMHOs of Udaipur and Salumber are to provide medical facilities at polling stations, distribution and collection and counting centers.

All polling teams will depart for their respective polling stations from Government Fateh Senior Secondary School, Udaipur, on November 12. EVMs and other materials will be returned to the collection centre on November 13. Counting will take place on November 23.
