Centre Approves Rs 65 Cr for Road Works in Udaipur
Rajasthan receives budget of Rs 1154.47 crore for development of 27 roads and Rs 30 crore for bridges construction
Jaipur, November 30, 2024: The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved a budget of Rs 1154.47 crore for the development of 27 roads in Rajasthan and Rs 30 crore for the construction of a railway underbridge in Sri Ganganagar. The finance will be used to widen and strengthen roads stretching to 748.80 kms and to construct a high-level bridge over the Kalisindh River in Kota.
This funding was approved under Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) and Setu Bandhan Scheme following a meeting of Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on November 28.
Diya Kumari said this was a major step towards accelerating the State’s infrastructure and development. The new roads would not only ease transportation but promote trade, tourism and agriculture thus boosting economic activities and new employment opportunities, she added.
Under this scheme, 27 road projects under the Major District Roads (MDR) and State Highways categories across 17 districts in 15 Lok Sabha constituencies will be widened and developed.
Udaipur will receive a budget of Rs 65.25 crore for development work on 39 kms.
Details of other road projects are as follows:
- Alwar Lok Sabha area: 24 km in Alwar district at Rs 24 crore; 51 km in Khairthal-Tijara at Rs 69 crore; 28.62 km in Kotputli-Behror at Rs 49.30 crore.
- Barmer Lok Sabha area: 49 km in Balotra at Rs 57.50 crore; 44 km in Shahpura, Bhilwara at Rs 74 crore; 71.80 km in Bikaner district at Rs 73.30 crore; 17 km in Pratapgarh, Chittorgarh at Rs 20 crore.
- Jaipur Rural and Sikar Lok Sabha areas: 57.70 km in Jaipur Rural at Rs 65 crore.
- Jalore: 49 km at Rs 65 crore.
- Jhalawar: 81.25 km at Rs 149.97 crore.
- Jodhpur (Phalodi): 53 km at Rs 55.65 crore.
- Kota (Bundi): 33 km at Rs 80 crore; Construction of a high-level bridge over Kalisindh River in Kota at Rs 70 crore.
- Pali (Jodhpur Rural): 67 km at Rs 98 crore.
- Rajsamand: 58 km at Rs 70 crore.
- Tonk: 25.43 km at Rs 58.50 crore.
