In a significant move aimed at the advancement of Maharana Pratap Airport situated in Dabok, Udaipur, the Rajasthan government has granted approval to allocate 145 acres of land without any cost. This decision sets the stage for extensive efforts to transform the airport's infrastructure and facilities. The designated land will be acquired from four villages as part of this initiative.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, in Jaipur, has granted consent for the allocation of an additional 145 acres of land at no charge to facilitate the growth and enhancement of Udaipur Airport. The acquisition expenses for this land, approximately amounting to Rs 83.50 crore, will be covered by the Udaipur City Development Trust (UIT). It is noteworthy that the government has also advanced the promotion of UIT within the Urban Development Authority (UDA), with the final stages of this process currently underway.

With Gehlot's endorsement, the Udaipur airport is poised to undergo an extensive expansion of its facilities, greatly benefiting passengers. The designated land for this purpose is situated in four villages Dabok, Ghanoli, Tus Dangian, and Mandesar adjacent to the existing Udaipur airport. This privately-owned land, primarily situated in the periphery of the Udaipur City Development Trust, will play a pivotal role in this development endeavor.

Earlier, the Airport Advisory Committee had urged the state government to allocate land for the Udaipur airport. In order to elevate the airport's status to international standards, an extension of the runway is imperative. In light of this, the airport administration emphasized the requirement for 145 acres of land, a proposal that has received official government approval. The detailed expansion of the runway will subsequently enable the seamless landing of large aircraft, including Airbus models.
