Congress MLAs end Dharna outside Raj Bhawan, Anti Corruption Bureau issues notice to rebel ministers

Congress leader Sachin Pilot has meanwhile filed a caveat in the Supreme Court while Ahmed Patel alleges that the Constition is being applied selectively

The 5 hour Dharna by the Congress MLAs of the Gehlot camp at Raj Bhawan ended at 8pm today, after Governors asurance that he will abide by the constitution and take a decision without any external pressure. Clarifications sought by the Governor before he allows assembly session will be given in the Cabinet meeting called by the Chief Minister today at 9:30pm.

At a press conference in Jaipur during the Dharna at the Governor's residence, CM Ashok Gehlot had expressed concern that the assembly was not being allowed following pressure from "the top". He however said that the government hopes that the session will be allowed to convene. Kalraj Mishra, Governor of Rajasthan asured that he will call a session in the state assembly once he gets clarification on points raised to the government. Ashok Gehlot has called for a cabinet meeting at 9:30pm today, where the clarifications will be given.

Selective application of the Constitution alleges Congress leader

Ahmed Patel of the Congress, meanwhile alleged that a selective application of the Constitution is now in force, quoting a similar incident in Manipur when the BJP government had managed to convene assembly but the Rajasthan government is not being allowed to do so.

Caveat filed by Sachin Pilot

Ex Dy Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Sachin Pilot has filed a caveat in the Supreme Court as he wanted his side to be heard in case the Congress moves Supreme Court with any new petition.

Notices to Congress MLAs

Notices were issued by the Anti Corruption Bureau to Congress MLAs and sacked ministers Vishvendra Singh and Bhanwar Lal Sharma for alleged horse trading during the ongoing Rajasthan government crisis. The Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Rajasthan Police has also issued notices to Balwant Singh, Digvijay Raj Singh, Karni Singh and Tanveer Singh for the alleged horse trading that led to the curent crisis in the Rajasthan government.
