Total Cases touch 619 | Highest per day positive since Lockdown 5 in Udaipur | 13 belong to same family - all asymptomatic

15 COVID19 positive cases in Udaipur today has shaken up the flattening curve for the City of Lakes.

One COVID positive case in Sarada was reported today morning, followed by another in Machhla Magra, Khanjipeer.  This was followed by a mini blast of 13 cases, all from the same area and same family.  Al 13 cases are from Kumawatpura under Surajpol police station and belong to the family of the person found positive on 14 June.

As per CMHO, Dr Dinesh Kharade, all the cases are asymptomatic. Close contact tracing of those found positive today has begun aggresively.

A flattened curve over the last 15 days, when relief measures of Lockdown 5 were initiated in Udaipur, has suddenly spiked up.  Once again the walled city area has contributed to the rise in cases. Though the rise is just 2% over the last cumulative figure, still it is a wake up call to residents of Udaipur. A call to tread on the relief very cautiously and ensure that all precautions are taken and movement is restricted to bare minimum for essential reasons.

With prohibitionary orders under Section 144 already imposed in Kumawatpura till 28 June, the district administration will be looking at enhancing controls in the region and across the walled city area.  Close contacts of those found positive today will be rounded up and tested over the next 24 hours.  There is a possibility of extension in prohibitory orders in Kumawatpura and nearby areas.
