In a significant gathering, the District Child Protection Unit convened its quarterly meeting on Wednesday September 20, 2023 at the Collectorate Auditorium. Chaired by Additional District Collector (City) Sajeev Dwivedi, the meeting brought together district-level officers from various departments and representatives from voluntary organizations. The primary agenda of the meeting was to emphasize the importance of collaborative efforts at all levels to ensure the holistic development of children.

During the meeting, Additional District Collector (City) Sajeev Dwivedi delivered instructions to all attendees, stressing the need for joint initiatives and coordination among concerned departments and voluntary organizations. The overarching goal is to foster the comprehensive well-being of children within the district.

He emphasized the importance of protecting children's rights by avoiding unnecessary decisions imposed on them. He instructed the Education Department officials to develop measures for reengaging children who have dropped out of school and preventing such situations in the future.

Meena Sharma, the Assistant Director of Child Empowerment, provided an update on the progress of various child protection schemes within the district. UNICEF's Child Protection Advisor, Sindhu Binujit, presented information regarding the "Community Policing to Build Awareness and Trust" program administered by the Police Department. During the meeting, Kusum, a representative from the Foster Care Institute, and Govindlal, the head of the anti-human trafficking cell, shared their perspectives. Additionally, the Child Empowerment Department unveiled a poster related to the Vatsalya Yojana during the same meeting.
