Donald Triumphs, Promises to Deliver Strong, Safe America
Democrat candidate Kamala Harris concedes defeat, says will not give up fight for her ideals
November 6, 2024 - Congratulatory messages from world leaders poured in as Donald Trump has been elected to become the 47th President of the United States. He is also on track to become the first Republican in two decades to have won the US elections on popular vote. After winning Wisconsin, Trump had achieved the 270 electoral vote target that was required to win the presidency.
Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris, and the Democrat candidate for the US Presidential election, conceded defeat and told supporters gathered at Howard University yesterday that she had lost the elections to Trump. She urged her supporters to accept her loss and instead turn their focus on the future, and continue the fight for the ideals that had shaped her campaign. She said, “While I concede this election, I do not concede the fight that furled this campaign.” “My heart is full today. Full of gratitude for the trust you have place in me, full of love for our country and full of resolve,” she further said.
Post his victory, Trump said: “I want to thank the American people for the extraordinary honour of being elected your 47th President, and your 45th President… I will be fighting for you with every breath in my body. I will not rest until we have delivered the strong, safe and prosperous America that our children deserve and that you deserve.”
