Well known Japanese actress who lent her voice to many popular cartoon shows dies aged 90

 

Renowned Japanese actress Nobuyo Oyama (90), famous for the voice of the popular cartoon character Doraemon, is no more. She passed away on September 29 and the news of her death surfaced yesterday, October 11.

Nobuyo Oyama is closely associated with the cherished childhood memories of numerous individuals worldwide due to her iconic voice. Nobuyo Oyama was born in Japan in 1933 and embarked on her acting career during the 1960s. She became widely beloved for her role as the voice of the robotic cat in Japan's animated series Doraemon.

She started her career as a voice actor in 1957. She provided the voice for the character Lassie. Following that, she contributed her voice to Hustle Punch, which aired from 1965 to 1966, where she voiced the main character, Punch. Subsequently, she portrayed the character Kappei Jin in Invincible Super Man Zambot 3.
